blo Blow Dry Bar in Bloor West

I don't have very many guilty pleasures, but I am a bit addicted to getting my hair blow-dried. I realize I am perfectly capable of washing and drying my own hair. But the professionals are so much better at it, especially the ones at blo Blow Dry Bar in Bloor West Village. No cut or colour at blo salons- the only service is blow-dries. You choose from a variety of styles in the hair menu such as the Red Carpet (classic smooth tresses) to the Holly Would (tousled sexy curls) which I went with.

Kaila did such an awesome job... you should have seen my hair an hour before this. Big frizzy mess. There is a reason I am smiling so deliriously. Also, the rag mag selection is stellar. I am all caught up on Kardashian #3's Husband From Hell.

I like how a giant portrait of Marilyn greets you when you walk in. If you are going to set a standard of gorgeousness, may as well go with the classic bombshell!

Love this place, and all the lovely friendly people in it. Thanks ladies! Rosie :)

Sport Clips Haircuts on the Queensway

Getting my little man's hair cut is always a challenge. He hates to sit still, doesn't like the water on his neck and isn't afraid to express his fury at the whole process. That's why I'm so glad Sport Clips on the Queensway opened. Sports Clips offers haircuts for men and boys in the perfect setting: surrounded by giant HD TV screens playing sports.

Sport Clips Haircuts for Men & Boys

There is no appointment needed, no waiting, and the Sport Clips "MVP Experience" only takes about 20 minutes. You get a haircut with a scalp massage, a classic hot steamed towel treatment and a relaxing neck and shoulder massage.

The stylists are great. They really know how to cut hair. The service at Sport Clips is fantastic; everyone was so patient and friendly with our little guy. Owner Andrew was incredibly helpful and kind, and stylist Camille was just wonderful.

Camille gave little man the best haircut of his life, and she did it fast. She was amazing. He can't stop checking himself out.

Body Blitz Spa

I spent a good part of my 20s trying out most of Toronto's spas, and while there are lots of lovely spots, only one has stuck with me as I finish out my 30s. That would be Body Blitz. No other spa has gorgeous therapeutic waters you soak in first before you get scrubbed or baked in clay. And because it's for women only, you can submerge yourself in the green tea tub or the cold plunge pool totally naked. It's awesome. My fabulous friend Jen and I recently had body bakes, and we thoroughly enjoyed choosing the mud we would be baked in at the mud bar. We went with the oceanic clay mud, which has a lovely eucalyptus scent. You strip and put on a disposable thong, then they scrub you, hose you off, slather you with the mud, bake you under intense lights, blast it off with water and then massage and cover you with lotion. It's fantastic.

I figured further photography would be highly frowned upon past this point so if you would like to check out some pics of the Body Blitz pools, visit their website. We have always gone to the Adelaide location, but now there is another one on King. St. East. It's a must-try, and you don't have to do the water naked if that isn't your thing. Rosie :)
