The pies are dessert art. Dess-art!
If you are going to San Remo for the first time, get a cappuccino and try one of their donuts. Made fresh daily, there are dozens of flavours to choose from including Nutella, maple walnut, lemon filled, chocolate crumb, key lime filled, maple bacon and chocolate coconut. I love the sugar Boston cream. You can order in advance for parties and meetings and blow everyone away. The cannoli are also amazing, and enormous.
I love to bring the lemon meringue pie to dinner parties. They sell out fast so if you want one get there early. They are so reasonably priced, under $10.
The chocolate pecan pie is equally impressive to bust out! Rich and delicious.
I love me some Torrone and the selection here will make your eyes pop. Torrone is a sweet toasted almond nougat candy and a traditional Italian Christmas dessert.
At Christmas time, San Remo stocks all the traditional Italian treats including Torrone, panettone and pistachios of course.
I've been focusing on the sweets but San Remo also has a very delicious and very busy lunch counter. The veal and meatball sandwiches are very popular and there is a great selection of cheeses, olives, giardiniera and cured meats
A great place for lunch, to have a coffee, or to pick up wonderful local fresh-made desserts. Catering is also available. Rosie :)
