Yours Truly | Ossington: NOW CLOSED

** Yours Truly closed on September 30th, 2014.**

It's easy to eat at Yours Truly. The five-course tasting menu focuses on a main ingredient for each dish. You have two options for each course. You pick, and the server brings, along with five amuses. There is also a wine pairing option. The wine selection is excellent. The food looks like art, and the flavours are insane. Some highlights:

Beef cheek raviolo:

Toronto Life chose Yours Truly as the best new restaurant in 2012. Jeff Claudio has since left but Lachlan Culjak is doing just fine. Your Truly also offers a Carte Blanche menu, which is a blind tasting menu. The kitchen selects 20 courses based on your preference of meat or vegetarian. There is a limited number of Carte Blanche seatings so reserve in advance. Rosie :)

I love, love LOVE Kristen Bell in House of Lies so I totally get the Veronica Mars obsession. The much anticipated movie that was funded by a record-breaking Kickstarter campaign is in theatres on March 14th, and I have one DVD to giveaway to one super lucky reader. While interviewing at high-end New York law firms, Veronica Mars gets a call from her ex-boyfriend Logan who has been accused of murder. Veronica heads back to Neptune just to help Logan find an attorney, but when things don't seem right with how Logan's case is perceived and handled, Veronica finds herself being pulled back into a life she thought she had left behind.

This giveaway is open to my readers in Canada and the USA. Deadline to enter is March 21st at midnight. All prize packs will ship after the DVD release date ETA May 2014.

Oliver & Bonacini Café Grill at the Westin Trillium House in Blue Mountain

Being on vacation for me means not having to grocery shop, not having to cook, and not having to clean. Amazing meals I had nothing to do with preparing are always one of my favourite things about getting away and in addition to all the fun activities that made our stay at the Westin Trillium House in Blue Mountain so awesome, there was an Oliver & Bonacini right in the hotel. Yes, that meant O&B room service, and ordering it was so much fun... here are some highlights!

Eggs benedict (my fave vacation breakfast dish- who makes this at home?)

Mac & cheese with Parmigiano-Reggiano (love the crunchy breadcrumb topping)

Grilled calamari puttanesca with anchovies, capers and black olives:

A really amazing New York steak with roasted mushroom pudding,

And delicious baby back ribs with cornbread pudding, beans and bacon. No one shared.

Also consumed but not pictured include bacon and Niagara gold cheeseburgers with black truffle aïoli, lots of wine and lots of french fries. Rosie :)

Firehall Pizza at Blue Mountain Resort in Collingwood

Blue Mountain is an awesome place to get away to if you feel like being somewhere where the snow is being celebrated, not just pushed off into another giant dirty pile. We just came back from an activity-packed few days and in addition to lots of delicious room service from Oliver and Bonacini, we picked up pizza for lunch one day from Firehall Pizza Co. in the village. We ordered the Little Devils, just cheese and pepperoni:

Firehall Pizza is a casual family-friendly place to dine with a lovely cozy atmosphere. Rosie :)

Sesame Street Presents: The Body at the Ontario Science Centre

This interactive exhibition all about the human body is so much fun for little ones. The whole Science Centre is great, but this exhibit particularly is geared to toddlers. From noses to toes to what happens after you eat food (yup, the whole process) everything is hands-on and there is lots of space to let them run loose.

I've always wanted sit on the Sesame Street steps at the Sesame Street front door!

Sesame Street Presents: The Body runs until May 5th, 2014. It is included with your general admission to the Ontario Science Centre. Rosie :)
