iparent.tv Subscription Giveaway

Are you overwhelmed by how tech-savvy your kids are? Are you still trying to figure out what Snapchat is? If your kids know more about social media than you do, it's time to get with the program. iparent.tv is a yearly, subscription-based website for teaching and informing parents on all things tech (apps, devices, websites) so that you WILL know what they are up to online. My Toronto Scoop has a free subscription to give away to one lucky reader. The subscription includes a password and login to the site and access to articles and information on what's new in the online world and how it affects your family. There will be ratings on which platforms are safe for kids and age ranges so you know if a site is safe for very young children. To win, check out the iparent.tv indiegogo page and leave a comment here! Contest closes on March 2nd at midnight. Good luck! Rosie :)

Fair Grounds Cafe: New Lakeshore & 24th Street Location

One of my favourite coffee shops in the city opened another location! There is now a Fair Grounds Organic Cafe further east on the Lakeshore from the 40th Street main location. It's smaller but still packed with all their amazing coffee and treats.

They also carry the So-Ho-Mish skin cream made by the Honey Bee Store, which sells natural products that have been sourced from both Canadian and international producers that practice sustainable beekeeping.

This Fair Grounds is located at 3261 Lake Shore Blvd. West (east of 24th Street on the south side west of Kipling). It's open everyday from 7am to 7pm. Rosie :)

Embella Party Supplies and Giftware- NOW CLOSED

My little man loves balloons, so every year for his birthday we make sure to have a big batch of colourful ones. This year I picked them up from a great shop in my neighbourhood: Embella Party Supplies and Giftware. Not only do they have an excellent balloon selection and helium services, but they have a wonderful selection of gifts particularly if you have little girls to buy for. These tulle skirts and dresses are adorable:

I love a good hair accessory. All the hairbands and bows will make your eyes pop:

Most of the pieces are one-of-a-kind, and made by local artisans. These little crocheted shawls and dresses are beautiful.

There is also a lovely selection of jewelry for mummies, as well as a party room, loot bag service and sewing classes. Embella Party Supplies and Giftware is located at 647 The Queensway in Etobicoke. Rosie :)

Bua Thai on The Queensway

I love ordering Thai food from Bua Thai. Everything is always so fresh and flavourful. Here are our go-to dishes. First up: duck lettuce wraps.

The beef salad is one of my faves. It has a nice heat:

Pad thai with chicken and shrimp. I always look forward to these leftovers.

We rotate through the green and red and peanut curry... tonight was peanut's turn:

It's hard to try other Thai restaurants that deliver because Bua Thai is always so good. You can also eat-in (the restaurant is lovely) or take-out. Rosie :)
